Labor and Contraction Timer app good for
Very usefull interface. I had the patience to research and read most of the Contractor apps, and to download some of them. This one is, by far, the most intuitive, simple and complete. I just wish it could import the history log from the Lite version.
Used it during the delivery of my baby just last week. Its a simple, uncomplicated program that tells you just what you need to know -- when each contraction starts, ends, begins again. It was very helpful while in the throws of labouring agony.
This app worked great for my wife and I. Its so easy to use. I found it much easier than using a watch.
Bought this at 4 in the morning when I thought contractions were starting but was far too unawares to do time math. Excellent app thank you so much
This timer allows you to track the average length of each contraction as well as the interval between contractions over the past twenty minutes and, more importantly, the pat hour. According to our OB and our birthing class instructor this is exactly what we should be measuring to make the determination of when to come to the hospital. The only thing this lacks is more detailed history in case your contractions start reducing. But it will certainly indicate when youve reached 5-1-1 contractions
Its a free app, folks. But it gets 5 stars because it works great, is easy to use, and does exactly what it promises. We used it during labor, and it was extremely helpful in deciding when to head to the hospital!
Some bad moments
The app fails to deliver its most fundamental purpose: calculate the average time between contractions. My wife had twelve contractions in an hour and the app mysteriously calculated the average time between contractions to be 8 minutes. We put too much trust in the app and arrived late to the hospital. You do the math.
The program does not allow you to reset the tracking!! I will look for a better app.
Im actually suprized Apple allowed such basic apps in their store, especially ones which contain upselling references to paid applications. This has the feel of something thrown together in an afternoon, my wife tried it for less than a minute, but found nothing useful about it. She also said a 20 minute average is really not that much use when tracking contractions. There are much better tracker/timers out already all of which have had a lot more care, visual appeal and functionality put into them. I find it very suspicious that this app has more than a 1 star average. Just who is doing this voting?
Cant delete individual entries if you made a mistake, not visually appealing or informative.
While the interface is simple, its almost too simple. I like the visual data that Stage1 offers, as well as the ability to delete individual contractions in many other apps. Also, other apps let you write notes for a contraction. OK, but very basic.
I like the idea of this app & simplicity, but crashes when pressing the about button or the view contractions button. Not helpful. Fix these bugs!
